E4S Champions of Sustainability

At the annual E4S Celebrating the Champions of Sustainability Awards Program we recognize individuals who are the pioneers of the sustainable economy. Each year, since 2003, you have helped us discover these leaders by nominating someone who is doing the groundbreaking work in their business or organization in the fields of green building, advanced energy, local food, waste to profit, sustainable mobility, green or bio-based materials, sustainable product or service design and more. In addition to putting sustainability to work for their business or organization, champions of sustainability also support others in the community so that together they are building a sustainable economy. Most importantly, your nominees inspired you to implement sustainability.

Their stories are told by you their peers, employees, bosses, customers, suppliers and friends - those they have inspired to put their own ideas into action.  This award is given to an individual in Northeast Ohio who has championed a new way of doing business, broken down the barriers and have inspired others to put sustainable business practices to work. Though champions never work alone, this award is not for companies or teams.  Awards are selected by a group of your peers.

E4S Champions of Sustainability Awards Include:

  • A Champion of Sustainability nominee could be anyone from within a business, government or non-profit organization such as: a business owner, purchasing agent, product designer, architect, maintenance person or sales representative who is implementing sustainable business strategies within their organization.
  • Special Recognition Awards were given to champions in non-profit or governmental organizations that support the implementation of sustainability strategies for other organizations.
  • The Schneiderman Award is given to a champion that delivers the most social benefit.
