Key Strategies

CONNECT: The rapidly growing E4S Network is vital to entrepreneurs and innovators finding inspiration, information, support and most importantly connections - connections to suppliers, customers, resources, partners, and investors. E4S is committed to engaging and linking leaders and change agents from different sectors of the community including business, economic development, environmental, academia and government. To build a sustainable economy we need everyone's perspective and participation.

"E4S was instrumental in my career shift into a sustainable business and it continues to be a very valuable platform for me to meet peers, get advice and be challenged, and stay on top of important business trends to broaden my knowlege of how traditional business and sustainable practice can work together profitably". -- Scott Gordon, V. P. Operations and Sales, Rosby Resource Recovery

LEARN: E4S is bringing the "how-to" resources of sustainability and whole-systems thinking to Northeast Ohio through a variety of learning programs. The E4S Network is a growing learning community curious about how to put their passion into action. E4S offers educational workshops, peer-based action learning groups, and web-based learning pages and on-line forums. Tools include FAQ's, local and national best practices, and success stories.

"I greatly enjoyed and benefited from the Sustainability Implementation Group experience under Holly's leadership. Studying and sharing practical applications of the principles of sustainability within our businesses was exciting and rewarding. We continue to learn and implement triple bottom line opportunities in many areas of our operations." - Bill Oatey, Oatey Co.

DO: Since its inception, the main goal of E4S has been to increase the number of leaders from the E4S Network who implement sustainability projects that demonstrate positive triple bottom line results. Specifically, E4S works with its constituents to find ways to cut costs and create new revenue streams, innovate new products, services and businesses, improve the productivity of their buildings and operations, energize their employees, and ultimately transform their enterprises and industries through whole-systems design projects.

Connect

Anytime you can be in a room of 150 people that are as intensely interested in something that concerns you it's very helpful. I never go to a meeting where I don’t end up in a conversation with three to four different outcomes.
