Holly wins Meister Eckhart Award!

Holly was recently honored with the Meister Eckhart Award,
an Award of Distinction presented by Sr. Joann Buckman,
Director of the Crown Point Ecology Center. This award was presented at the
Gathering of Thanks ceremony which took place at Our Lady of the Elms Chapel
in Akron, Ohio on May 12, 2006.

The Meister Eckhart Award was named for a German Dominican from the Middle
Ages named Meister ("Master" in German) Eckhart.  The award honors a person
who advocates for the care of creation by their words and deeds.  Holly was
honored with this special award for her work with Entrepreneurs for
Sustainability and her regional economic development efforts.

Several others were honored with different awards at this ceremony. A tree was planted
in honor of each award winner.
In Holly's case, two Holly bushes were planted at Crown Point in her name.

Reflection

Using widely available energy-saving materials and equipment, most building managers can reduce their energy bills by at least 25% to 40% through basic weatherization, hot water savings, and a few other simple and cost-effective measures.
