Entrepreneurs for Sustainability presented its annual Champions of Sustainability Awards to Dr. Gus Kious, president, and Gabriele Olinchic, materials manager, Huron Hospital; Phillip and Margaret Nabors, owners, Mustard Seed Market & Café; Jeff Krejci, account executive, Interface Corp.; Ronn Richard, president and chief executive, The Cleveland Foundation; and Andrew Watterson, sustainability programs manager, city of Cleveland.
Foreign Investment in China magazine named Cleveland industrial manufacturer Eaton Corp. the multinational corporation "most committed" to social responsibility in China. The Shanghai publication commended Eaton for its role in environmental protection. Also, American Corporate Responsibility Officer magazine named Eaton as one of nation`s best corporate citizens for 2007. The magazine had a consultant evaluate public corporations, drawn from the Russell 1000 Index, on environment, climate change, human rights, employee relations, corporate governance, lobbying, philanthropy and financial criteria.
The Ohio Council for Home Care named Cassie Parrish of Menorah Park Center for Senior Living in Beachwood its Home Health Aide of the Year.
The National Institute for Automotive Service Excellence named James Pease of Parma, director of operations for Montrose Auto Group in Akron, its Ford/ASE Master Collision Repair and Refinish Technician of the Year.
The Solon Chamber of Commerce named SS&G Financial Services Inc. its 2007 Solon Business of the Year. The award cited the company`s growth, charity and community involvement.
