~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Jessie Jacobson and Jill Ziegler Quicken Loans Arena and Forest City Enterprises
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ How
has the nominee implemented sustainable business practices in his or
her business or organization and what are the triple bottom line
benefits (people, planet, prosperity) of the nominee`s work? Jill and Jessie worked together to launch food waste composting for their large downtown Cleveland businesses. Their pilot program is the first of its kind in downtown Cleveland and will lead to a large concentration of businesses composting food waste.
How has the nominee inspired you to implement sustainable business practices? Both are active in E4S, zerowasteneo.org, and both have allowed others from around the region attend meetings, learn about the pilot, etc. Jessie and Jill are committed to making downtown Cleveland composting happen and they aren`t shy about letting others know why and how they do it!
How can someone else translate the
success of the nominee? Is the work of the nominee an example or model
that others can follow? Jessie and Jill have shown the way where there has not ever been a way before... they are literally carving out new space in waste reduction and showing others how to do it.
How does the nominee actively participate in the
sustainability community? How do they collaborate and share their
knowledge with others? Jessie and Jill`s pilot program is the vanguard model of making food waste composting work at large facilities. Already Jill and Jessie have helped other downtown businesses get organized to start food waste composting.
