Benefits local farmers by giving them access to customers in Greater Cleveland. Benefits customers by providing sources for fresh, healthy, locally grown farm products. Benefits the environment because foods do not have to be shipped long distances saving on transportation emissions.

How has the nominee inspired you to implement sustainable business practices?
Trains farmers in how to market their products, provides information to consumers about purchasing and use of healthy, local grown foods.

How can someone else translate the success of the nominee? Is the work of the nominee an example or model that others can follow?
This organization has inspired us to buy locally grown foods where possible and to patronize restaurants who feature foods from local farms.

How does the nominee actively participate in the sustainability community? How do they collaborate and share their knowledge with others?
Donita Andersen started the NUFM and has nursed it to a vital, thriving organization and she is a good example of how someone can pursue and realize goals in sustainability.
