How has the nominee inspired you to implement sustainable business practices?
they are the main inspiration behind a lot of what we do. Just one example: during the 2006 BAWB Forum, there was a meeting of academics and about 100 CEOs. The CEOs asked the academics why they are so far behind the times and not stepping up in terms of social entrepreneurship education and research. The academics replied that the reason is because business is not funding it. So Chuck Fowler then gave a grant of $2.4 million to Weatherhead, helping create the first professor position in social entrepreneurship in the US.

How can someone else translate the success of the nominee? Is the work of the nominee an example or model that others can follow?
Yes. Most examples currently are of large companies while the majority of the economy is based on small and medium sized business. Fairmount serves as a shining light to those businesses.

How does the nominee actively participate in the sustainability community? How do they collaborate and share their knowledge with others?
They are probably the most unselfish company that I know - they are constantly giving speeches and presentations to share what they have done. They participate in just about every major sustainability network in the US.

We cannot solve the problems that we have created with the same thinking that created them.
