The Creamery is sustainable on a regional scale. They purchase goat milk from a rural farmer, then take the product into Cleveland for processing. It is marketed direct throughout Northeast Ohio. Their work is helping to preserve farmland, and bring new business and food choices into the city.

What is the triple bottom line benefit (people, planet, prosperity) of the nominee`s work?
Reduced farm to plate distance decreasing the use of fossil fuels, increasing the health benefits of local and sustainable food produce for regional consumers, keeping food dollars local and reinvested in the community and the aforementioned environmental benefits.

How can someone else translate the success of the nominee? Is the work of the nominee an example or model that others can follow?
This work is an exemplary model for local food system benefits and potential. The Janosko`s are utilizing rural resources and urban market demand. They are a great example of how to meet the growing demand for local food products by capitalizing on the resources of the region.

How does the nominee actively participate in the sustainability community? How do they collaborate and share their knowledge with others?
The Janosko`s have shared their knowledge and expertise with other food producers, they sell at farmers markets throughout the region and have provided assistance to at least one new local cheese business in the region.
